// Dissection

The autopsy

Overall observations

The 1080 × 1920 export runs 10.031 seconds and cost about five credits ($0.50 USD). In the side-by-side comparison, the upscale makes individual hairs and stubble more defined, but it also adds reddish speckling and an exaggerated pore pattern across the face and neck.

// Final assessment

The verdict.

The upscale is sharper, but the added pigmentation and artificial skin texture change how the face reads in close-up. I’d keep the original for this shot. At about $0.50, the test was cheap, but the extra sharpness wasn’t worth the change in complexion.
